TASS Reinforcing & Steel, as part of the TASS Group is supplied with reinforcing steel by the most recognized reinforcing steel manufacturers. The bars are supplied in the following standard diameters, lengths and grades:
Deformed High Tensile steel bars denoted by the letter "Y" to SANS 920:2011 - 450Mpa
Diameters of bars available in mm: Y5.6; Y8; Y10; Y12; Y16; Y20; Y25; Y32; Y40; Y50
Smooth Mild Steel bars denoted by the letter "R" to SANS 920:2011 - 250Mpa
Diameters of bars available in mm: R6; R8; R10; R12; R16; R20; R25; R32 R40
Standard Lengths available for both Grades
6m; 12m; 13m
Processing, Delivery and Fixing
TRS cuts and bends the reinforcing bars to SANS 282/2011 codes of practice. The items are delivered and installed on site. TRS has modern machines and systems which enables us to process and deliver the required reinforcing as requested.
Bending Schedules
All bending schedules generally refer to the SANS standard shape codes as seen in the table below. Most reinforcing is processed from the bending schedules provided by the customer. However as TRS is part of the TASS Group of companies which is associated to MRH Consulting Engineers it has the skill base to formulate bending schedules as required.
